Our team is about to enter a time of rapid growth as we venture towards the implementation of the State’s Advanced Spatial Digital Twin. The support from all stakeholders for Spatial WA has been overwhelming and I am excited to begin the journey to deliver this new digital capability.

Spatial WA will be a platform that will enable agencies to combine spatial and non-spatial data, generate analytical insights, run predictive modelling, and streamline workflows through the use of digital data.

With $140 million secured from the WA State Government for the next 10 years to fund the program, Spatial WA is on track to deliver this game-changing technology.

Our team is actively spreading the word about the future of WA’s spatial capacity. Last month, Spatial WA participated in a national Digital Twin Workshop in Canberra, hosted by Geoscience Australia, where digital twin teams from across the country convened to exchange insights and explore opportunities for advancing this technology.

This session continued the ongoing collaboration that has been formed over the past few years, validating how our Advanced Spatial Digital Twin will rollout. Importantly these collaboration sessions support our commitment to ongoing learning and sharing between our intergovernmental counterparts.

I look forward to keeping you updated as we embark on this exciting journey to transform the collation and use of data that will transform Western Australia’s spatial technology and application.
